WHARTON Cons have been reinstated after their conquerors at the previous stage were thrown out of the competition.

Grange Sports, who beat the Winsford men at Helsby last week, were deducted 21 chalks for fielding an ineligible player.

It sets up a mid Cheshire derby in the last eight.

Wharton's reward is a clash with old foes and last year's runners up Castle Private next month, ensuring a local team will reach the final four.

The only other survivor is Frodsham Red Lion, who saw off Meadow Bank in the third round to set up a tussle with Heswall.
