MID Cheshire youngsters make up more than half the field for Sunday's final.

Holder Craig Shaw (Castle Private) launches his title defence against Comberbach rival Daniel Moores, a bowler who beat him in the first round two years ago.

Former winner Thomas Clare (Winnington Rec) faces Joe Illidge (Rudheath Private) in the opening round, while 2006 losing finalist Matt Hamman starts against Offerton's Adam Scott.

Crowton's Lee Lynch has a bye to the second round of a competition nobody from outside mid Cheshire has won since 2003.

The Junior Merit takes place at Christleton's Freemasons Club from 2pm.
