WHARTON Cons were eliminated from the British Crown Green Bowling Association's World Club Championship at the first-round stage on Sunday.
The Winsford outfit, who qualified to represent the county after winning the Cheshire Inter-League Championship last season, were eliminated by St Helens side Eccleston.
Shaun Yearsley was their only winner in a resounding 163-112 defeat at Leyland Fox Lane Sports and Social Club in Preston.
However Eccleston were denied a place in the last eight when they lost against Holme, from Cumbria, in a decider.
