NEIGHBOURS meet in the Mid-Cheshire Bowling Association’s Littler Cup final this Sunday, when Comberbach A will clash with Spinner & Bergamot A at Owley Wood.

The Premier Division side, two-time former winners, must overturn a 71-chalk handicap deficit against their lower-ranked opponents.

For Spinner, from Section Two, it is a first appearance in the showpiece.

They can take inspiration from sending out two top flight teams, Wharton Cons B and Castle Private A, en route.

Meanwhile Comberbach, beaten finalists on three occasions before lifting the trophy in successive seasons in 2001 and again the following year, have had to squeeze through close encounters to make it through.

They were separated by six chalks on aggregate following a semi-final duel with league rivals Frodsham Red Lion A, the same margin of victory as against Owley Wood A in the last eight.

Sunday’s final, in Weaverham, is scheduled to start at 4.45pm.
