AFTER breaking records last season, defending champions Mid-Cheshire A are on course to be relegated from the Federation National League’s top flight this time around.

A heavy defeat, by 25-7, against South Derbyshire on Sunday – a first reverse in five meetings – is also a third successive loss in Division One.

Boss Chris Koral has blamed poor performances at home for his side’s slump this term.

He said: “Our form has been disappointing in every game.

“We’ve not been able to count on a number of bowlers who have played previously, but the biggest difference has still been the results on our own greens.”

Only three men, Terry Bebbington, Len Stubbs and Koral, won at Winsford Cons where the visitors’ victory margin was worth 58 chalks.

Paul Mackie, Pete Illidge, Mark Winnington and Dave Stanley made it to 21 at Rowditch, where Mid-Cheshire lost 234-191 to go down by a huge margin of 101 on aggregate.
