COMBERBACH A claimed the biggest margin of victory in the Premier League on Friday, beating Middlewich CC by 75 chalks.

At the table’s summit Wharton Cons A dropped just three chalks against the their B team to leave champions Castle Private A, who ceded 17 to their second string, 43 points adrift after 13 matches.

Crewe PO lost for only the second time this season at Frodsham Red Lion B in Section One, but remain favourites to finish first.

Promotion-hopefuls Beech Tree A and Crosstown A both scored 239 in comfortable home wins against Comberbach B and Davenham A respectively.

Alsager Institute, runaway leaders in Section Two, were one mark short of a full house at home to Middlewich RBL.

Wharton Cons C won at Castle Private C in the same section to edge ahead of Rudheath B, who proved too strong for Spinner & Bergamot A at Middlewich Road.

Elsewhere Barnton CC A registered a first away win of the season, winning at Helsby.

Winnington A continue to lead the way in Section Three following a home success against Rudheath C, while closest rivals Coppenhall WMC won at Lostock Greylams.

Hazel Pear B matched that feat at back-markers Crowton.

Davenham B totalled 247 against Davenham C in Section Four, with home teams winning each of the six matches played.

Winsford Cons C were closest to success on the road, only to go down by two at Meadowbank B.

Pace-setting Barnton CC C proved too strong for their D team at Townfield Lane, easing to victory by 72 chalks.

Davenham D scored 233 at home to Tarporley RBL B, while Spinner & Bergamot B reached 223 at Kelsall B’s expense.
