BOWLERS from clubs in the Mid-Cheshire Bowling Association formed the majority of a Cheshire team that finished as runners-up in the British Veterans’ County Championship.
They scored wins against North Midlands and North Lancashire & Fylde at Fenton, only to succumb to eventual winners Yorkshire.
Wharton Cons’ Terry Bebbington and Graham Donnelly joined Gerald Merry (Delamere), Colin Peters (Comberbach) and Mark Winnington (Castle Private) in Cheshire’s eight-strong squad.
