She can take some comfort from succumbing to eventual winner Helen Gilroy (Yorkshire) after winning four matches at Washlands Bowling Club, in Burton on Trent.
Wharton Cons’ Nicola Boulton bowed out at the quarter finals stage to runner-up Jane Bowler, while Castle Private’s Viv Raddy exited in the second round.
