STEVIE Stockton hopes to go one better in Saturday's English National Cross Country Championships.

The Vale Royal AC star claimed a silver medal last year, helping the club win its first team prize at the event.

And, with international teammate Charlotte Roach there to bolster the Junior Women's line up this time around, they may just improve on their third place finish.

Middlewich runner Megan Huxley finished inside the top 10 in the U13s Girls' race last year but she will face tough opposition on her debut at U15s level this weekend.

Vale Royal are sending a 46-strong squad to Staffordshire's Alton Towers on Saturday, where chip-timing will be used for the first time at these championships.
