CAROLINE Fearon rode faster than ever at last week’s Manchester and District Time Trial Association 50-miles Championship.

The Weaver Valley Cycling Club member knocked three minutes of her lifetime best, clocking 2:28.34 to cross the line as runner-up in the ladies’ race.

Her husband Dave placed 16th overall in 2:01.55, while Weaver Valley teammate Nick Butterworth was among the first 50 to finish in 2:19.14.

In-form Alan Kemp was a winner in his age category at the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists’ (LVRC) sixth Brendan Chui Memorial race at Bridgnorth.

He followed that with first place in the men’s O55s class in the Seamons CC evening road race at Allostock.
