NORTHWICH Sapphires remain in contention to win the Warrington and District League after crushing top tier strugglers Capricorn on Wednesday.

Wing defence Sarah Langley was the victors’ star turn in a 53-28 success in the Premier Division.

Sapphires’ second string remain unbeaten in Division Two, captain Jessica Taylor leading her team to a 25-16 victory against promotion rivals Warrington Town fourths in their latest outing.
