Match pointers
PAUL Simpson takes charge of promotion hopefuls Northwich for the first time in an Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division encounter at North Ferriby United tomorrow, Saturday.

Banned Tom Field is the only absentee for the visitors, who eased through to the FA Trophy quarter finals in midweek after thrashing Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Vics have won only one of their past five league encounters, but their away form remains solid with a single defeat from a dozen road trips this term.

Ryan Wade’s impressive cameo in midweek means he pushes Jordan Johnson for a start, while Sean Kinsella is available again after sitting out Tuesday’s win because he was ineligible.

Hosts North Ferriby have yet to score a league goal in 2012, a run of five scoreless matches.

The Vilagers slumped to a new low last weekend, shipping seven goals at strugglers Stocksbridge Park Steels in a club record defeat.

They at least returned to winning ways in midweek when sending Bradford Park Avenue out of the Doodson Sport Cup, Russ Fry scoring twice from the spot in a 2-1 success.

Manager Billy Heath has lost front man Alex Davidson, to Bradford, and Buxton-bound Peter Davidson in recent weeks, but top scorer Gary Bradshaw remains.

North Ferriby are unbeaten in seven Premier Division encounters at their Rapid Solicitor Stadium, a sequence stretching back to September 24.
