NORTHWICH Victoria will play Saturday’s scheduled league encounter against Marine at their Victoria Stadium home.
The club’s solicitors confirmed late this afternoon that an agreement had been reached with de-facto landlords Deloitte and the ground’s prospective new owners, Thor Specialities (UK) Ltd.
No accord has been reached on what will happen after that.
“Talks are proceeding amicably with the receivers and Thor over terms that will allow the team to play football at the Victoria Stadium until the end of the season,” said Vics’ lawyer Paul Dodds.
“However no deal has been done.”
A source at Thor has confirmed to the Guardian that Vics can host Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division play-offs rivals Marine this weekend.
It was reported elsewhere last night, Tuesday, that Vics owner Jim Rushe had negotiated a reprieve for the club following their eviction from the place they have called home since 2005.
However Thor managing director David Hewitt, who attended a summit with representatives from Deloitte and the club in Manchester in Monday, this morning revealed only the opposite.
Meanwhile Rushe has not given up hope that Vics can complete the campaign at the Victoria Stadium.
“Further announcements regarding the progress of talks will be made in due course,” added Dodds.
