Danny Warner and Aaron Carter leave Witton Albion as manager cuts squad

PAUL Ogden has started to trim his squad following his swoop for Hyde United pair Lee Pugh and Ashley Stott on Friday.

Full back Danny Warner, one of only three players to stay at Wincham Park following Gary Finley’s departure last summer, has joined Albion’s FA Cup conquerors Mossley.

He has made just one substitute appearance this term.

Meanwhile another defender, ex-Manchester City junior Aaron Carter, has returned to Evo-Stik Premier Division club Nantwich Town after failing to break into Ogden’s plans.

The teenager left Weaver Stadium at the end of last season to follow player coach Dave MacPherson and goalkeeper Lee Jones to Northwich.

However he has not been included in any of Witton’s match day squads to date.

Heading in the other direction is midfield wide man Danny Griggs, who becomes Ogden’s fourth signing in a week following the captures of Paul Harrison, Pugh and front man Stott.
