Match Pointers
NORTHWICH Victoria protect a perfect record when they welcome Hucknall Town to the Victoria Stadium tomorrow, Saturday.

And they do so full of confidence after toppling promotion hopefuls Bradford Park Avenue in midweek.

John McAliskey (calf) is edging closer to a first appearance in green and white, but is unlikely to be risked from the start.

Ollie Ryan and Andy Fowler – who opened his goalscoring account for Vics on Tuesday – remain favourites to form the hosts’ attack.

Manager Andy Preece’s only dilemma is in midfield, where he switched Wayne Riley and Kingsley Williams to face Bradford.

Hucknall make their second visit to the Victoria Stadium – they lost 2-0 on their first in Nationwide Conference North four years ago – off the back of a thumping win at Buxton on Wednesday.

The Yellows, now under the stewardship of former Carlton boss Tommy Brookbanks, have scored seven times in their opening two games.

He signed 30 players this summer, shipping out 18, so performances are bound to be unpredictable.

Indeed they had to share the spoils with Ossett Town on the season’s opening day after losing a three-goals lead in a ten-minutes spell.

Front pair Daryl Thomas, on target three times this week, and Paris Simmons will be supported by former Vics striker Tris Whitman.
