CRAIG Lee was the star of the show for champions Club Mid Cheshire as they started their league campaign in style.
He was in sparkling form to win each of his head-to-heads in a crushing win over Lostock’s fourth string, while Fiona Dennett and Keith Mitchell chipped in with two wins apiece. Lostock and Manweb shared the spoils after a tie at Works Lane.
Stephen Stringer won all three singles rubbers for the hosts, supported by a doubles win and a notable scalp for league chairman Tony Turner as he beat Dave Nelson.
Winnington’s thirds lead the way in Division Two after routing Wharton, Tim Turner scoring a maximum return.
But the other contests were even; Lostock’s fifths pipping Winnington’s second string while the derby clash between Lostock’s second and third teams ended all-square.
Geoff Mee won his three battles for the former.
In Division Three Cuddington were quickest out of the blocks after whitewashing Club Mid-Cheshire’s second string.
