Grange School rowers face local rivals in Fawley Challenge Cup race

FOUR teenagers from the Grange School race at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta later today, Thursday.

The junior quad scull, consisting of Will Broderick, Tom Ford, Rob Sherry and Rupert Wiltshire have qualified for the Fawley Challenge Cup, where they face a composite crew entered by Cheshire neighbours Royal Chester and Queen’s Park High School.

The two boats go head to head at 6.50pm.

Westminster School await the victors in the last 16.

The annual regatta started yesterday, Wednesday, in glorious sunshine as temperatures soared.

According to the Daily Telegraph, an announcement – the first in 33 years – was made informing ‘gentlemen may remove their jackets, but not their ties’ in the Stewards’ Enclosure.

Several British Olympians will be in action today, including sculler Alan Campbell.
