ORGANISERS of next month’s Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership Youth Games have landed a £10,000 grant to help stage the event.
The cash comes from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All scheme.
“It will make a huge difference,” said Sport Cheshire spokesman Sarah Nancollas.
“We can use it to help raise the profile of community sport.”
The games are open to more than 1,000 teenagers competing against each other in badminton, basketball, cheerleading and rugby.
They can also try archery, urban sports, handball, rowing, paddlesport, racketball, table tennis, dance and climbing.
This year's Cheshire Youth Games take place in Macclesfield on Saturday, October 11, from 9am.
