Rowing: Grange School rowers make history

FOUR Grange School RC rowers made history at Henley yesterday.

The men’s junior coxless quad became the first crewe made up entirely of students from the Hartford school to qualify for prestigious annual royal regatta.

Brothers John, Ed and Tom Ford were joined by Rupert Wiltshire on the water as they defeated York City B by a length in the Fawley Challenge Cup first round.

They met their match this morning though, missing out against one of the competition’s seeded crews in the last 16 – Malvern Preparatory School (USA) – by four lengths.
