Rusk heads for Vics exit
SIMON Rusk has played his last game for Northwich Victoria.
He is expected to sign for another Blue Square Premier club, believed to be Weymouth, on Monday.
"Simon is moving on," boss Dino Maamria told the Guardian.
"His wages are high and once we had an offer from another club I agreed that he could move on."
Rusk did turn up at the Marston's Arena for today's 2-1 defeat to league leaders Aldershot Town but Maamria did not include him in the squad.
"I felt it was inappropriate," he added.
Rusk, 26, was one of Neil Redfearn's first signings when he switched to Vics from Boston United last summer.
Ironically he fell out with Redfearn following Vics' 5-0 thrashing at Aldershot in September, after which he was transfer-listed.
He spent a month on loan at Rushden and Diamonds before returning when Dino Maamria took over as temporary manager from Paul Warhurst.
He has been a regular since then, either as a central midfielder or right back, putting in a string of impressive performances.
His departure leaves Maamria with the task of restructuring his midfield after Michael Carr handed in a transfer request on Wednesday.
Maamria also revealed that Greg Strong had been made available for transfer, joining exiled trio Chris Williams, Kevin Townson and Paul Tait on the unwanted list.
Another recent absentee, Brad Maylett, missed the New Year's Day derby defeat and today's reverse through illness.
