Potential internet home for new fans club is bought by firm with links to Northwich Victoria

INTERNET addresses that might be home for a new football team in Northwich have been bought by a firm fighting legal battles for Northwich Victoria.

Football Factors, hired by Vics owner Jim Rushe to represent the club in a ongoing dispute with the Football Association and the Northern Premier League, registered on Friday a number of websites including the term 1874 Northwich.

The name was picked by fans as their favourite in a poll the previous day.

“It’s just sharp business practice on my part,” said Graham Bean, who runs the Yorkshire-based company.

“I wondered if those behind the new club had bought the rights and discovered that they hadn’t, so I now own the names.”

A member of Northwich Victoria Supporters Trust, a 200-strong group that voted a fortnight ago to start its own version of Vics, spotted that 1874northwich.co.uk, 1874northwichfc.co.uk and 1874northwich.org.uk had been registered by Bean.

Asked to comment by the Guardian, trust chairman Paul Stockton said that he would discuss the situation with board members at a meeting later this week.

Fans have argued already that the former FA compliance officer intends to hold on to the domain name – a title that identifies a website – simply to frustrate them.

Bean says that is not true.

He added: “This has got nothing to do with Jim Rushe or Northwich Victoria. Neither has any involvement in what I have done.

“I’m open to offers to sell them.”

Early in the internet’s history, many web operators bought generic domain names only to be challenged later on by companies wanting the rights to them.

It is not known if the trust will do the same in this case.

A desperate and frankly pathetic act of malice. Wonder what his "boss" JR thinks, given that he has given public approval to the formation of a new club.

Is Bean seriously suggesting that, having freed themselves of the clutches of one financial cripple of a business, the Trust and the fans should give money to another (his Football Factors conciliation company being in adminstration - no wonder if this is his idea of "conciliation"!)

Some interesting FACTS here about Bean. Now we know why he's perfectly qualified and suited to represent the bankrupt chairman of NVFC.

What the hell are you waffling about now? Get a grip Colin!

I suggest that you stop being Rushe's foul smelling mouth piece, stop listening to his propaganda, stop doing his dirty work by posting his lies and deceit.

You really have reached rock bottom but show no signs of stopping!

What does it feel like to have once been the most respected fan in Northwich, to now having nothing?

By the way, where are these Big Plans that you promised 2 weeks ago?

1874 Northwich FC, 138 years of reclaimed history for the fans club,
the peoples club, the community's club. Back In Northwich.

BIN Buckley,
BIN Rushe,
BIN McNally,
BIN Bean.

1874 Northwich FC doesn't need the Juniors but maybe the Juniors need 1874 Northwich FC!

I can confirm that the Supporters Trust has not made attempts to take the Juniors from Northwich Victoria 2007 FC. The Supporters Trust fully understands and respects their relationship with the Senior Club.

The Juniors are a strong, well run Football Club and the Management will always make democratic decisions that are in the best interests of all their young players.

Care to comment Colin?
Maybe an apology for accusing the Supporters Trust of kidnapping the Juniors?

By the way the 138 year history doesn't belong to Rushe's business formed in 2007. The fans of 1874 Northwich FC have claimed it back, wink, wink!

How much money have YOU spent this year on pointless coach trips for a few fans that HE should have paid for?

Well nice to see a nice biased view in the paper this morning. Totally neglecting to say about all the childish behaviour of supporters trust members on their forum. And this was even before he had done anything for the club. Childish name calling, childish pictures of rowan atkinson etc etc to name a few.

BIASED? Deary me Colin, after accusing the trust of 'stealing' the juniors only to be proven wrong and being forced to apologise, you're now accusing the local paper of bias. GROW UP.
Frankly I'm surprised the local paper are giving any media coverage at all to a team that plays well outside its distribution area and will do for the foreseeable future.

Let me see if I've got this right....

You're complaining about Alan's letter of complaint, Vicki's letter of complaint and Diane's letter of complaint in this weeks Northwich Guardian, in relation to Bean's spiteful, intimidating and victimising purchase of 1874 domain names?
You're also complaining because they failed to complain about 'alleged' Trust members posting pictures of Rowan Atkinson? Doh!

Who has spent what? If you are on about 1874 Northwich then all they have spent so far is the money to register the club with the FA. If, however you are talking about your bessie mate, I would like to know where he has spent the money considering he hasn't paid a "bean"(see what I did there?) to any of his creditors.
