1874 NORTHWICH will travel to higher-ranked opponents in the FA Cup first qualifying round if they win a replay with West Didsbury & Chorlton tomorrow.

A trip to Mossley, who were 4-0 victors against a side managed by Paul Bowyer and Wayne Goodison during a pre-season friendly last month, is the reward for the team that prevails in south Manchester on Tuesday night.

Neither 1874 nor West Didsbury have previously reached the first qualifying round.

The North West Counties League rivals played out a six-goal thriller on Saturday when 1874 recovered from 3-1 down with five minutes left.

Substitute Kyle Riley and defender Jack Pritchard both scored their first goals for the club to earn the hosts a second chance.

They also needed a replay to progress at the previous stage, beating Northwich Victoria 2-0.

Elliot Harrison and Tom Dean were on target for Mossley during an impressive 2-0 win at Northern Premier League rivals Glossop North End in their preliminary round tie on Saturday.
