Why should I watch..?
Because it’s match of the day in the North West Counties League’s top flight.
1874 Northwich’s hopes of being promoted may have gone, but they can dent the bid of a rival by beating Steve Cunningham's side.
The hosts are eight points adrift of leaders Runcorn Linnets with three games in hand, so have first place firmly within their sights.
Numbers game
Nobody has beaten Colne on their own pitch in a Premier Division fixture this season, with Reds winning eight – and drawing four – of their dozen matches at the XLCR Stadium.
They may have to score more than once to beat Ian Street’s side; 1874 have scored in every away game since a 4-0 defeat at Ashton Athletic back in October.
Man to keep an eye on
Ben Woods
The full-back made his debut in Tuesday’s 2-0 win against Cammell Laird, supplying a cross for Matthew Beadle to head in the hosts’ second goal.
Following spells with Ramsbottom United Hyde United and in the Northern Premier League’s top-flight this term, his ability to raid from deep will be an asset in attack this weekend.
