IAN Street included new recruits Paul Connor and Andy Hurst in the starting line-up for Monday’s stalemate in a pre-season friendly at higher-ranked Warrington Town.

The hosts’ best chance fell to front man Chris Simm, who spent a brief spell with Witton Albion last term.

On the other occasions Yellows went close, 1874 Northwich goalkeeper Matt Conkie – named as best number one in the North West Counties League’s Division One during the club’s debut campaign – was on hand to deny them.

At the other end, Matty Ward wend closest for the visitors when he sent an attempt against the crossbar after dribbling past two defenders.

Two more summer signings, midfielder Brett Hamer and striker Matty Beadle, featured as substitutes in the second half for 1874.
