LOSTOCK Gralam had a spot at the next stage of the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup secured by half-time of their meeting with Dukinfield Athletic on Saturday.

The Grey Lambs led 4-0, and did not look back.

Charlie Hatton put the visitors in front against their opponents from the Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur League before James Dean converted a penalty to double their advantage.

He scored a third goal for Lostock after quarter of an hour before completing a hat-trick shortly afterwards.

Robbie Hatton and Myles Wady added their names to a list of scorers in the second-half to put the seal on an emphatic victory.

Cuddington returned to the Cheshire League Two summit as a reward for scoring five goals after the interval in their game against Sandbach United reserves.

Callum Payne netted four times in a 6-1 win at Norley Road, where Joe Lanceley and Nathan Harwood were also on target for the hosts.

Winnington Avenue 1994 let slip a 3-1 lead when they were edged out by Ashton Town’s reserves at Park Stadium in the same section.

Anasse Ataya’s double, plus a goal for Ben Lambert, established control for the Cheshire League newcomers.

“We switched off after scoring the third,” said manager Lewis Wood.

“It’s a massive learning curve for us, and this division has shown already that is can be very cruel.”

Middlewich Town’s reserves ended a sequence of seven matches without a win in the Cheshire League when they thrashed Greenalls.

Matthew Cann scored twice in an 8-2 drubbing, while there were goals too for Tom Brain, Daniel Martin, Alec Steward, Ollie Tobin and substitutes Mitchell Bailey and Tom Smith.

The Witches’ previous victory had been in the season’s opening round.
