OULTON Park will contest another Cheshire Cup final following a 37-run success against Chester Boughton Hall, last season’s winners, at the semi-finals stage on Sunday.

Their reward is a meeting with league rivals Neston.

The men from Little Budworth mustered 211 at Filkins Lane after winning the toss, scoring quickly from the outset with Martyn East (31) and Andrew Mills (54) adding 93 for the first wicket.

Chester recovered, with Jack Williams (5-28) the pick of their bowlers, before Craig Douglas (36) boosted the visitors’ total.

Matt Parkinson (3-26) and Richard Smith (1-40) accounted for the home team’s top order as they struggled to 53-4.

However Harry Killoran (53) and Williams (35) assumed control when they added 105 runs together during a crucial partnership that appeared to have swung momentum their way.

That was until Ben Gibbon (4-11) joined the attack, and he removed both of them to accelerate a collapse to 174 all out.

Douglas (1-29) and Muhammad Kashif (1-14) also took a wicket.

Oulton Park act as hosts for the final on Sunday, when play starts at midday.
