EMILY Martin, of Weaver Valley Cycling Club, lowered her lifetime best for a 50-mile time trial during Congleton Cycling Club’s open event last weekend.
She stopped the clock in 2:11.30 to classify as fourth female behind victor Sarah Grant (Vision Racing) who finished in 2:08.14.
Meanwhile Stuart Ward (2:10.11), Dan Robson (2:19.40) and novice Dan Conaway (2:27.50) also represented the Northwich club.
Alex Jones (Rhyl CC) topped the time-sheet with 1:45.55 – close to five minutes ahead of runner-up Ben Norbury (1:50.34) from the host club.
Meanwhile Paul Connor claimed the overall scratch prize in Weaver Valley’s Guardian Cup 10-mile time-trial series after clocking a personal best of 23:22 on Wednesday.
Martin, who stopped the clock in 24:39, finishes as runner-up.
