KERRY Hartnett was the outstanding performer for Oakmere when they condemned Wistaston to relegation following a 199-run reverse on Sunday.

She contributed an unbeaten century, scoring 135, as the home team posted 238-2 at Overdale Lane after winning the toss.

Carol Ingham (60) and Hailey Coutts (30no) were among the runs too for the hosts.

Hartnett then claimed five wickets in less than two overs, including a hat-trick, without conceding a run as the Cheshire Women’s League Division One back-markers crumbled to 61 all out.

Captain Morganne Prince (32) offered most resistance for Wistaston, while Leah Holland (1-11), Sophie Connor (1-18), Emma Tarpey (1-11), Vicky Heaton (1-7) and Rachel Tidd (1-3) took a wicket each.

Champions Oakmere, who head to Didsbury this weekend, take over top spot in the table from Appleton as a reward.

However the Warrington outfit do have a game in hand.

They will continue a busy spell with a home date against Chester Boughton Hall in the T20 Western Division on Monday, from 6.30pm.

Both teams have yet to record in victory in this season’s competition.
