KIERON Ollier claimed a wicket from his only delivery to ensure Kingsley took maximum points from a meeting with Prestbury.

He was the sixth bowler tried by captain Toby Mullins as the Crofters attempted to end their opponents’ resistance, which they did with time running out and the score on 170.

Ben Stoddart (3-45) was the most incisive, although there were braces too for Adrian Burden (2-44), Patrick Phelan (2-28) and the skipper (2-36).

Kingsley posted 185-8 after being put in, with in-form Hayden Lanza (65) and wicket-keeper Ed Leneghan (37) the pick of their batsmen.

They sit sixth in Division One after prevailing in their past three league games.

Captain Craig Phelan returned career-best figures for Oakmere as they recorded a comfortable eight-wicket win over Middlewich in Division Two.

He claimed 7-18, collected in less than eight overs, as the visitors to Overdale Lane collapsed to 90 all out.

Opener Matt Allen (44) was the only one to defy the home team for any length of time.

Alex Hodges (25no) and overseas Slade Mitrovich (45 off 30 balls) – who helped himself to seven fours and two maximums – did the bulk of the work in a successful reply.

Winnington Park’s hopes of joining the chasing pack behind the leaders were hit when they lost by five wickets against Poynton at the Rec.

They were knocked over for 120, with the dismissal of Jonny Wales (32) proving the most important one for the visitors.

Their reply was a bumpy one, with Tyron Young (3-32) and Michael Dunning (2-39) making inroads at the top of their order, before captain Daniel Williams (24no) eased them to 123-5 in the 31st over.

Winsford collapsed to a 91-run reverse at home to Styal in Division Four.

Chasing 183 to win, they lost two wickets early on before Andy Cooper (27) and Mark Skellon (28) added 51 runs for the third wicket.

However they were out in successive overs, and the final eight wickets fell for 21 runs.

Styal’s innings was in the balance at 117-5 thanks to the efficiency of James Tierney (1-35) and Dave Etchells (1-32) before Imran Yousef (84no) cut loose to take Styal to 182-8.

Paul Atherton (3-46) was the pick of the hosts’ bowlers.
