LIKE other sides for many years, Oulton Park failed to cope with prolific Nantwich wicket-taker Jimmy Warrington on Saturday.

The 35-year-old former Cheshire seamer gave the visiting batsmen no peace, taking 6-26 from his 17 overs as the men from Little Budworth were skittled for 145 in an ECB Premier Division encounter.

A Ben Johnston catch from his delivery sent opener Martyn East back to the pavilion without a run on the board and after the same combination worked to take out Oulton danger man Danny Leech (62) only eight more runs were added from the final four batsmen.

Steve Rimmer (54no) and Ryan Brown (68no) got the high-flying Dabbers home in the 32nd over, ensuring Oulton slide from fourth to seventh.

A battle between strugglers Stockport and Davenham in Division One finished in a draw.

Danny Hancock (3-19) finally got rid of Stockport’s troublesome century-maker Tom Facer as a 244-9 target was laid by the hosts in 50 overs.

Ben Gough (2-54) and Sam Hunt (2-43) chipped away at the hosts too.

Davenham, sat one place above second-from-bottom Stockport, had a good go at achieving their goal.

Despite James Loveridge (32), Hugh Walker (44), Hunt (57), Adam Garrod (35) and Mike Sambell (25) getting among the runs Davenham ran out of overs and finished on 228-9.

The Division Two mid-table clash between Northwich and Christleton also ended in a draw.

Northwich managed to hang on at 128-9 thanks to stand-in skipper Mark Walker (50no) sticking around to face 96 balls until the end of 50 overs, by which point his side had reached 128-9.

Glinoj Cherian (14) was the next best run-maker.

The performance with the ball of Tharusha Fernando (5-74) gave the hosts a chance with the bat as he helped to restrict Christleton to 199-8 from their 50 overs.

Jordan McDonough (2-54) and Andrew Dufty (1-21) also made their presence felt, with the former taking the wicket of Christleton’s top-scorer and skipper Josh Morgan Jones (59).

Weaverham were unable to match what promotion-chasing Romiley had to offer.

Openers Tom Rolph (60) and Sam Astley (67) put Romiley in a strong position from the start.

The visitors’ 238-8 declared after 46 overs proved to be too tall an order for the hosts, who were dismissed for 122 in the 37th over.

Kevin Douglas (3-62) and Salman Hanif (2-33, 31) were Weaverham’s top performers.
