KINGSLEY’S five-match winning sequence was halted by promotion-chasing Stockport Georgians in emphatic fashion last weekend.

Their hosts piled on 235-6 after winning the toss, including a century stand for the first wicket.

Travis Martin (3-59) made a breakthrough, while Adrian Burden (1-51) claimed the wicket of leading-scorer Ben Jones (71).

The Crofters collapsed to 96 all out, with Danny Mullins (36no) stranded.

James Locke (4-40) ensured he ran out of partners quickly before tail-ender Tom Waring (20) offered some resistance.

However by then a defeat had long since felt inevitable.

Barnton fell to a five-wicket defeat at home to Disley after succumbing for 122.

Pat Flanagan (32) was their highest-scorer, while Paul Coot (20), Aidan Malley (18) and Sam Connop (17) all made starts.

Toby Carson (3-21) finished a job started by Michael Gilmour (2-21).

The visitors secured a victory before the end of the 24th over thanks to Andrew Clarke (40no) and Will Ritchie (46).

Neil Langham (4-58) was the pick of the bowlers.

Slade Mitrovich was again the star turn for Oakmere when they demolished Winnington Park by a huge 127-run margin in their clash at the Rec.

The South African scored a century when the teams met in a T20 Cup tie earlier this month, and repeated the trick with an unbeaten 114 (off 83 balls) this time around.

That included a 106-run partnership for the third wicket with Nick Guest (53) as the away team declared on 251-6.

Park were knocked over for 124 in reply, with Guest (4-32) claiming the wicket of Jonny Wales (26) and a defiant Martin Evans (25) lower down the order.

Skipper Craig Phelan weighed in with season-best figures of 4-31 as his side recorded a ninth win in 10 matches.

Middlewich came a cropper at improving Wilmslow, who celebrated a 65-run victory at the Rectory Field.

The home team put 196-6 on the board after being put in, with Sam Brothers (3-48) preventing Elliot Rowe (75) from reaching a century.

There were wickets too for Phil Parry (1-14), Stephen Parry (1-36) and Reece Johnson (1-45).

James Prime (64) anchored the visitors’ reply, but he couldn’t count on much support as they folded for 131 in reply.

Rowe (4-32) completed a productive afternoon for his side, supported by Tim Opie (3-36).
