KINGSLEY secured a quarter-finals place in the Cheshire League’s T20 Cup as a reward for a 43-run victory over lower-ranked Chester County Officers on Thursday.
The Crofters put 158-5 in the scorebook, an innings which featured a partnership worth 78 runs between Harris Yassin (47) and Danny Mullins (32) for the second wicket.
Charlie Loye (19) and Kingsley Warman (29) added 53 more when they came together for the fifth.
Chester, who play in Division Three, were restricted to 115-8 in reply.
Tom Waring (2-13) took the key wicket of Dave Downham (27), as well as the hosts’ other opener James Banks, to set his side on a course for victory.
Hayden Lanza (3-20) and Adrian Burden (2-8) contributed too.

Oakmere suffered a first defeat of the campaign when they fell unexpectedly to a seven-wicket reverse at home to Aston.
The men from Overdale Lane, victors in nine of their previous 10 matches this term in all competitions, posted 138-7 when they batted first.
Captain Craig Phelan (41 off 25 balls) and Slade Mitrovich (27) shared in a second-wicket stand worth 64 runs, and Ciaran McDonnell (28) scored quickly too.
However it was not enough, and Oakmere were eliminated after their guests reached 139-3 with two balls to spare.
Openers Rob Draper (36) and Allan Joseph (29) took the visitors to 83 before Shaun Reynolds (33no off 18 balls) accelerated them to a seven-wicket win.
