EMILY Martin’s impressive run of form continued when she took third place in the Janus Road Club 25 near Goostrey.

The Weaver Valley Cycling Club member stopped the clock in 1:01.57 to trail fastest female Mel Lowther (Storey Racing), who timed 59.00 to edge out teammate Monica Dew by 69 seconds.

Alistair Stanway was the quickest of the club’s men to complete the course in 58.16, while novice Paul Connor produced an excellent ride to finish in 59.31.

Colin Carthy (1:04.13) and Dan Robson (1:05.57) took part too in an event that incorporated Weaver Valley’s own 25-mile time trial championship.

Meanwhile overall honours went to Mark Turnbull (TORQ Performance) by a 32-second margin ahead of Andy Wilkinson (Port Sunlight Wheelers).

The victor finished in 51.35.

Weaver Valley were represented at the Liverpool Phoenix 10 by Andy Woolley (24.46) and Steve Marlow (25.29).

Phil Williams, from the host club, took first prize in a blistering 19.14.
