OULTON Park set up a winner-takes-all clash with Nantwich next month after seeing off Tattenhall in a Joseph Holt Brewery T20 group-stage encounter last night.

The Cheshire County League Premier Division rivals both have maximum points from two matches.

A platform for a seventh successive victory in all competitions for the men from Little Budworth was laid by their batsmen when they posted 145-3 after winning the toss.

Daniel Leech (43 off 24 balls) and Muhammad Shahbaz (43no) put on 58 runs together for the second wicket before the latter added a further 68 in tandem with Tom Hyslop (38).

Tattenhall’s reply was denied a chance to gather momentum after Muhammad Kashif (4-17) removed the top-order to leave them 58-5.

Waqar Hassan (25 off 21 balls) rallied briefly before the Division Two side were dismissed for 109 in the final over.

Ben Gibbon (2-12) and Craig Douglas (2-21) were both productive with the ball too.

Nantwich, who needed only eight overs to seal a 10-wicket thrashing of struggling Barrow, have home advantage in the decider.

Davenham could not follow up a victory at Northwich in their Group Three opener, succumbing to a 38-run reverse at Alvanley.

Andy Bennion (88 off 54 balls) scored nine fours and five sixes as the home team put 170-6 on the board after winning the toss.

Sam Hunt (3-45) took half the wickets to fall.

Davenham were all out for 132 in reply, with Hunt (27) their highest-scorer.

Oli Gallagher (18) and Sam Robbins (19) made starts before being dismissed, while Lee Ainsworth (3-29) was the pick of Alvanley’s bowlers.

A victory at home to Weaverham, eliminated following a seven-wicket defeat at home to Northwich, could still be enough to send Dan Hancock’s men through.

However that requires Alvanley to slip up at Moss Farm.
