PRESCOT put an end to Winnington Park’s four-match run without losing in the North West Men’s League when they prevailed by a single-goal last weekend.

Goalkeeper John-Paul Dodd was the visitors’ star turn.

They face two road trips this weekend.

Winnington’s seconds shared the spoils from both games in a double-header.

Matty Howard put them in front against Oxton’s thirds at Sir John Deane’s College on Saturday before the visitors rallied to lead 2-1.

Net-minder Andy Palin prevented them from adding to their tally before Adam Jones scored an equaliser.

Park’s game away to Bowdon’s fourths the following day was similarly eventful, and Mark Leigh cancelled out the home team’s opener with a powerful drag-flick.

He repeated the trick to put the Northwich side ahead, but Bowdon responded with a well-worked goal of their own.

Park’s thirds could not prevent unbeaten table-toppers Birkenhead from adding another victory to their collection in Division Seven South West.

A 4-0 defeat felt harsh after they had battled hard.

In-form Liam McKee increased his goals tally for the campaign with another hat-trick as Winnington fourth’s thrashed Denbigh’s seconds.

He put them in front before Alex Goldie’s reverse-stick strike made it 2-0.

Stu Entwistle guided in Goldie’s cross before McKee netted again before the break.

Star man Nathan Crossford added his name to a list of scorers, again supplied by Goldie, before McKee added gloss by completing a personal treble.
