SPARKS still occupy top spot in the Mid Cheshire Super League’s top-flight after being pushed all the way by Wreckers.

The rivals were tied at 4-4 before Peter Davies and Ray Worthington recorded took the remaining singles points on offer.

Top-seed Terry Turner starred for their opponents, winning in each of his solo head-to-heads before joining forces with Charlie Ostapski to prevail in the doubles.

Victoria occupy second spot after brushing aside their hosts Manweb.

Simon Lafferty produced his best to inspire Raptors in a 7-3 success against Cobras, emerging as victor in every game he played.

That included a doubles victory with Alan Darlington, who had stepped in to cover for injured Chris Snape.

Mark Darlington and Dave Etchells both enjoyed a flawless evening as Lemmings saw off Hawks in Division Two.

It leaves them seven points clear of Daresbury, who lost at Sticklebacks.

The visitors handed over three points to the home team after fielding only two players during an otherwise tight match.

Substitute Phil Monton bolstered Winsford’s ranks, but not enough to prevent them from losing narrowly to in-form Bears.

Paul Curley was the pick of the visiting players with three wins, and he triumphed too with Andy Edwards in the doubles.

Wolves were held by Vikings in Division Three, halting their winning sequence at seven matches.

Wanderers lost 9-1 against Rangers despite drafting in Mark Baker, while Dave Mairs and John Mullin enjoyed a hat-trick of wins for the visitors.

The highlight though was Warren Atkinson’s recovery from 2-1 down to beat Stuart Hawkes in a decider after a five-set thriller.
