WINNINGTON Park completed a North West Men’s League double when they put nine goals without reply past Blackpool last weekend.

They led 3-0 inside quarter of an hour thanks to goals from Harrison Austin, Joe Booth and Paul Stackhouse.

Dave Thompson, Micky Sambell and Pete Evans added their names to the score-sheet by half-time before Booth and Sambell netted again either side of Mike Dodd’s strike to complete the rout.

Park’s seconds resisted a recovery by Deeside’s fourth’s when they recorded a 4-2 win.

Adam Jones and Matty Howard were on target to establish an interval lead before the hosts restored parity within 10 minutes of the restart.

Winnington rallied, and further efforts from Jones and Alfie Dole secured maximum points.

Winnington’s thirds earned a share of second spot in the table when they brushed aside Runcorn’s seconds at Sir John Deane’s College.

They controlled the contest from the start, and led thanks to strikes from John Crouchley and Ryan Crouchley.

Alex Goldie found the net too in a 3-0 victory.

Golborne’s thirds proved too strong for Winnington’s fourths, running out 4-0 victors.

Goalkeeper Tim Wylie made a fine double-save, while defender Joe Bell was struck twice in the face by the ball as the Northwich outfit tried everything they could to keep out their opponents.

Meanwhile The club have announced the date for a fundraising quiz night.

Teams taking part gather at Winnington Park Rugby Club on Saturday, February 17, from 7pm.
