Chester Ladies 2nd 5-3 Winnington Park Ladies
AFTER successive defeats, Winnington Park are searching for a first win of the calendar year.
They will try next to do that on Saturday, when lowly Macclesfield visit Moss Farm.
The Northwich side trailed 3-0 last weekend by the break, and recovered afterwards when Leona Wylie and Jaz Barlow, on two occasions, found the net.
However their opponents scored twice more to secure maximum points against guests hampered by losing a player to injury during the opening exchanges.
They visit table-toppers Alderley Edge seconds in a rearranged game on Sunday.
Winnington Park Ladies 2nd 2-1 Wrexham Glyndwr Ladies 2nd
KATIE Beesley scored a decisive goal for Winnington Park’s seconds to set them up for a meeting this weekend with league leaders Deeside Ramblers thirds.
The teams start that contest separated by a single point.
Park felt relief after completing a double over their Wrexham counterparts, a game they led when Isla Golding scored.
However their opponents levelled swiftly, and then defended stoutly with help from an inspired performance by their goalkeeper.
Beesley timed her contribution perfectly again, while Olivia Moynihan’s tireless work on the wing earned for her the player of the match award.
