Match of the Day
Witton Albion v Ashton United
Two sides with designs on contesting the promotion play-offs at the end of the season are scheduled to meet at Wincham Park.
Carl Macauley’s men are hoping to follow that epic 4-3 victory at Altrincham on New Year’s Day with another.
However the in-form Robins are unbeaten in their past nine Northern Premier League matches, and will provide a stern test of their hosts’ credentials.
It’s an important afternoon for…
Barnton
The Villagers still only have one victory to their name in the North West Counties League this season, and have lost all seven Premier Division fixtures since they recorded it.
Tomorrow visitors, Maine Road, are proof of what can be achieved if a side can put together run of positive results.
They have won four of their past half-dozen games, and risen to mid-table from the relegation zone.
Steve Lloyd’s men are hoping a similar sequence can be a catalyst for another successful survival bid.

And what about…
Winsford Saxons
The Crewe and District League champions have endured a frustrating start to the defence of their title, and have completed only four Premier Division fixtures.
They haven’t played at all since a 4-3 defeat at home to Sandbach Curshaws on November 25, and sit 11th in the table.
A victory at home to newcomers Clock Tower at Knights Grange on Saturday could kick-start their campaign.
Saturday!! Surely we can’t have another game off can we???
