KINGSLEY’S latest victory last weekend, their 11th in succession, is arguably their most remarkable of the campaign.

After they crumbled to 100 all out, Hayden Lanza (5-60) led a fightback that ended with Chelford leaving the Croft beaten by five runs.

The Australian enjoyed support from Adrian Burden (4-11) before Tom Waring bowled Umar Khan to settle the outcome.

His teammates had struggled against tidy bowling from Zohaib Khan (3-29) and Matthew Doggart (3-24) earlier in the day, when they slumped to 20-4.

Lanza (22) and Ed Leneghan (23) led a rally of sorts, but the innings still closed early.

Oakmere cruised to a seven-wicket win at home to Stockport Trinity, who they knocked over for 63 after winning the toss.

Matthew Howard (4-26), CJ van der Walt (3-5) and Mike Cushion (2-12) made sure only one batsman – Christopher Jones (17) – reached double figures.

Adrian Stubbs (27 off 24 balls) struck six boundaries to propel the hosts towards their target, which they reached in the 16th over to record a sixth win of the campaign.

Winnington Park’s recent revival, which had seen them avoid defeat in their three previous matches, ended after a batting collapse at promotion-chasing Poynton.

Chasing a modest 154 to win, they were skittled for 65 with Daniel Williams (4-18) and Tom Hamnett (3-19) their destroyers in chief.

Earlier, captain Alec Butcher had stumped both of the home team’s openers during an innings that closed on 153-8.

In-form spinner Jonny Wales (4-58) again led the way, while Michael Dunning (3-55) provided support.

In Division One, Barnton’s bowlers had too small a total to defend during a four-wicket defeat at home to Lymm.

The Broomsedge outfit’s batsmen again failed to occupy the crease, with only Pat Flanagan (40) and Peter Cook (20) – promoted from the seconds – offering resistance as they succumbed for 135.

Stand-in skipper Neil Langham broke through early in the Warrington side’s reply, and Paul Coot chipped in with a brace too, but the visitors comfortably made it to their target.

Middlewich’s resilience was rewarded with a draw when they visited Stockport Georgians in the same section.

They closed on 164-8, 14 runs short of their hosts’ total, after Richard Clorley (59) contributed a half-century at the top of the order.

Luke Blanchard (22) and Luke Houghton (24) chipped in too.

Stockport had scored 178-6 after being put in, with Nick Johnson (78) leading the way after adding 53 runs for the third wicket with Jon Keogh (20).

Stephen Parry (2-59) dismissed him, caught by Houghton.

Hartford played out a draw with Malpas in Division Five.

They closed on 139-7 after their hosts had declared with 289 runs on the board.
