BETH Willford-Dutton, a finalist at Henley Women’s Regatta last year, is out to impress again during the 2017 edition this weekend.
The Northwich Rowing Club sculler joined forces with Lucy Gillbanks to take second spot behind neighbours Warrington in a junior double 12 months ago.
This time she will compete in a single.
The 18-year-old, a student at Sir John Deane’s College, has represented Great Britain twice during the current campaign.
She formed part of a double and a quad at the Junior International Regatta in Munich, then combined with Lucy Edmunds (York City RC) in a double that finished sixth in the final at last month’s European Junior Championships.
A time trial, to whittle down a 21-strong entry for the Di Ellis Trophy, is scheduled for 9.20am on Saturday.
The top 16 will then return to the water for racing later the same day.
Good luck to our crews heading to @HenleywRegatta this weekend. We have a J1x, J4x, and S2x!

Anya George, Imogen Wolstencroft, Christina Preston and Katherine Schofield make up a junior quad that also races in the club’s distinctive green and gold colours.
That crew takes part in a time trial from 8.45am on Saturday.

Meanwhile Northwich alumni Abigail Davies, currently studying in America at the University of Louisville, returns to England with Maddy Staubitz (Cincinnati Junior RC) to race in the senior double category.
Grange School are also represented at the 30th edition of the annual event.
They provide three scullers – Lucy Cornelissen, Lizzy Boardman and Imi Stubbs – to a composite junior eight with King’s School Chester.
Their campaign starts with a heat against Headington School on Saturday morning.
Emily Ford, a former captain at Grange School Rowing Club, is part of a Newcastle University senior coxless four with Megan Barry, Lola Anderson and Nicole Lamb.
The three-day regatta starts today, Friday.
