JIM Duffy, of Weaver Valley Cycling Club, notched a second win of the campaign during Macclesfield Wheelers’ Evening Road Race over 30 miles last Tuesday.
He was part of an eight-strong break on a course around Siddington, only to move clear of his rivals with 13 miles left to ride solo – a position he maintained for the remainder to reach the finish 90 seconds clear of Andy Turner (Element Cycling Team)
In the evening’s final race, won by Keith Jones (Graham Weigh RT), Weaver Valley duo Kevan Underhill and Ged Lacey crossed the line in the bunch.
The former took fifth in the men’s over 55s age group.
Earlier Matt Langridge, an Olympic rowing champion from Northwich, had classified second behind Steven Fidler (Surface Design Racing) in the first race of the night.

The next day professional rider Matt Nowell (BIKE Channel Canyon) – a former member at Weaver Valley Cycling Club – set the fastest time in the Guardian Cup 10, stopping the clock in 21.15.
Meanwhile Langridge, in only his third time trial, was next best with 21.26.
3rd degree gurns at the local wvcc club 10 lastnight! 53x14 fixed on what I thought was a "flat" circuit hurt more than I anticipated! 😬😬😬 pic.twitter.com/nrx6Cu73g7
