NORTHWICH recorded a first league win of the campaign on Saturday, when in-form captain Mark Walker struck 14 runs during the final over at Alvanley.
He finished unbeaten on 32 as the men from Moss Farm celebrated a four-wicket victory, successfully chasing 203.
Wicket-keeper Luke Tapsfield (87) helped himself to a dozen boundaries, and put on 77 runs for the third wicket together with Glinoj Cherian (37).
The visitors closed on 206-6 with three balls left.
Earlier, their hosts had posted 202-9 after being put in.
Michael Rowlands (67) and Stephen Charles (40) shared in a partnership worth 97 for the first wicket before Mohammad Ajmal (4-65) removed both of them.
Meanwhile spinner Andrew Dufty (4-47) became the first bowler in Division Two to reach 20 wickets for the campaign.
Davenham remain unbeaten in the second tier after pocketing 13 points from a draw at Marple.
Sam Hunt (70 off 77 balls) was the pick of their batsmen, while skipper Dan Hancock (25no) boosted the visitors’ tally to 183-9 late on.
Andy Greasley took 4-54.
Marple’s reply closed on 124-9 thanks largely to captain Paul Wood (60no), while Stephen Bliss (3-31) and Robin Taylor (3-47) shared six wickets between them.
Hancock chipped in with 2-19.
His side stays in second place, trailing leaders Widnes – who were held to a draw by Bollington – by five points.

Daniel Leech (117) scored a century as Oulton Park ended a sequence of three league games without a victory by beating Weaverham at Wallerscote Road.
That helped his side run up the day’s biggest score of 275-7, and included an 84-runs stand with captain Pat Roberts (57 off 55 balls).
Rob McMillan took 3-62, supported by youngsters George McCormick (2-72) and Ryan Simm (2-77).
Weaverham were all out for 178, and drop back to the bottom of the table as a result.
James Lewis (35) and Simm (31) were their highest scorers, while Muhammad Kashif (3-32) and Matt Parkinson (3-52) returned the best bowling figures.
Martyn East (2-6) and Andrew Hards (2-32) both provided back-up.
