STUDENTS from Grange School Rowing Club raced against rivals from other clubs for the first time during the Shrewsbury Regatta.
The Hartford team celebrated four category wins at the two-day event, including one for a debutant under 14s girls’ coxed quad.
After they were edged out by the merest of margins, just three feet, by Royal Shrewsbury School in the first round, the quartet rallied to win a consolation Plate competition.
Emma Scarr-Hall, Rebecca Walker, Alice Norman, Emily Collier and cox Lucy Hall saw off Monmouth before a comfortable victory over a crew from Kings School Worcester in the final.

Matt Kenyon stroked an under 15s boys’ coxed quad, consisting too of Seb Paisley, Jack McGinn, Harry Barker and cox Naomi Hall, to first place In their class.
They were a length clear of Hereford Cathedral School when they reached the finish in the final.

A second under 15s boys’ coxed quad, this time with Brad Strickland-Baker, Sam Thorington, Rory Webster, Morgan Gray and cox Phoebe Smith on board, claimed first prize in a contest for B crews following emphatic wins against rivals from Kings School Worcester and Bishop Vesey’s.
Grange’s IM3 women’s quad, made up of Imi Stubbs, Lucy Cornelissen, Lizzie Blakeman and Emerson Lowe, were victors too in a head-to-head with Royal Shrewsbury School in their category final.
