WITTON Albion have announced that entry to their home game against Sheffield tomorrow is free.

The team will be presented with a trophy before kick off as a reward for finishing as runners-up to Shaw Lane in the Northern Premier League’s Division One South.

That was settled on Monday after a points deduction for fielding an ineligible player was confirmed, leaving them unable to catch the Ducks at the table’s summit.

“We cannot allow that setback to define what has been an excellent season that may yet end with promotion,” said chairman Mark Harris.

“We hope the offer of free admission will encourage as many local people as possible to roar the team on.”

Albion will discover tomorrow who they will host in a promotion play-off semi-final at Wincham Park on Tuesday.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Basford United, Newcastle Town and Lincoln United could all still finish in fifth position.
