IAN Street has promised to make changes to 1874 Northwich’s starting line-up for tomorrow afternoon’s derby date with Runcorn Linnets.

A disappointing display during last weekend’s 2-1 defeat against Padiham is partly the reason.

Paul Connor is available again, while Jason Carey has recovered from minor injuries sustained in a car accident seven days ago.

Sam Hind returned to training on Thursday, and is in contention to feature after being hampered by a hamstring injury in the past few weeks.

Street said: “There are probably a couple of changes I’d have made anyway with lads coming back.

“Last Saturday showed me a lot – some of it I suspected if I’m honest – and that makes it easier in terms of selection.”

Front man Harry Pratt, signed on a dual-registration from Chorley seven days ago, is pushing for a start in attack.

Defender Craig Farnworth will not be involved, while Danny Thomas (cheek) and Ryan Jackson (knee) are both long-term injury absentees.

Joel Douglas, who has made only two substitute appearances in the North West Counties League since a switch from Cammell Laird, has left this week to join St Helens.

1874 start Saturday’s contest three points adrift of their guests, but with two games in hand.
