CHRIS Hilton has warned Witton Albion that his Stocksbridge side will be no pushover tomorrow.

Steels remain the sole opponent to have beaten pace-setting Shaw Lane in the Northern Premier League’s this season, and have conceded only three goals in their past half-dozen Division One South games.

However they have scored just twice in the same period.

It’s a fact not lost on their manager.

“We’re creating enough chances but not sticking the ball in the net,” he told Steels’ official website.

“We’ve set up to be solid as a unit and we’re becoming hard to beat.

“That’s not being negative; we always go out to win, but you have to have to tweak things a little when you’re up against the top sides.

“Witton have the second best defensive record in the division, and you don’t want to be chasing games against those teams.”

Stocksbridge are unbeaten in their past four games at Bracken Moor, and were unlucky to lose 1-0 in the return at Shaw Lane last month.

They are also the only visitor that has prevented Carl Macauley’s men from scoring at Wincham Park this season during a goalless stalemate back in October.

They occupy 14th place in the table at kick off tomorrow, a dozen points adrift of the promotion play-offs places.

However they have games in hand on all of the teams ahead of them.

Attacker Brodie Litchfield is suspended for Albion’s visit, while Steels have announced they hope to have midfielder Richard Stirrup available for selection after he agreed to return to the club.
