OULTON Park avenged a defeat against promotion rivals Weaverham earlier in the season when they cruised to a 10-wicket win at Wallerscote Road on Saturday.

The men from Little Budworth rolled over the Russets for 117 after losing the toss, then cruised to their target inside 21 overs.

Guy Emmett took three wickets, while Sam Blandford, Daniel Leech and Ben Tomlinson claimed two apiece.

Openers Martyn East (72no) and Daniel Leech (43no) continued a free-scoring campaign with an unbeaten partnership.

The teams swap places in the Division One table as a result, Oulton rising to third.

Davenham played out a draw against Sale at Butchers’s Stile, where they closed on 177-8 after being set a target of 230 to win.

Ryan Blackie (42no), David Ashley (39) and Sam Hunt (35) were the main contributors to the home team’s total, while Richard Halkon (3-39) and Tyrone Lawrence (3-41) took three wickets apiece.

The visitors had posted 229-9 after being put in, Luke McCoy (70) and Brooke Guest (51) making half-centuries while captain Chris Canning (49) fell short.

In the absence of injured captain Danny Hancock, Robin Taylor (4-60), South African Givon Christian (3-63) and Stephen Bliss (2-57) shared the wickets to fall.

Northwich were left frustrated after Mobberley’s last-wicket pair denied them a victory in Division Two at Moss Farm.

The hosts ran up 226-6 after winning the toss, boosted by half-centuries for overseas signing Chandrika Wathukapage (77) and captain Mark Walker (62).

Matthew Dufty (22no) chipped in late on, while Abdul Aqeel took 3-95 for Mobberley.

They remained in contention for victory with Aussie left-hander Charlie Nield (111no) at the crease, only to close on 199-9 after he preferred to protect tail-ender Josh Northover.

James Plant was the pick of the home team’s attack, claiming 4-55.

Widnes made short work of wooden-spoonists Middlewich at Haddon Field, where they restricted the hosts to 147-9.

Captain Nick Gill (36) and Luke Houghton (27no) were their leading scorers, while Danny Moore (4-47) starred with the ball.

The table-toppers, now 47 points clear at the summit after recording a 10th win of the campaign, replied with 150-1.
