DAVENHAM’s seconds were on the end of a heavy defeat as they lost by nine wickets at home to Upton.

Having elected to bat first, the hosts struggled against the visiting seam attack with only Adam Day (21) and Tom Hunt (17) making it into double figures.

They were bowled out for just 85, a target Upton reached with ease.

Oulton Park completed a four-wicket win at Christleton.

Ben Kettle contributed two run-outs for Oulton Park as they restricted their hosts to 156-7.

In reply, Kettle top-scored with 62 while Tom Garnett added 39 as the visitors reached their target with 17 overs remaining.

Middlewich’s seconds were unable to beat the 212 set by Alvanley in 50 overs.

Although Ryan Twigg (3-26) and Paul Donnelly (3-41) helped to bowl out their opponents, Middlewich were tumbled for 174 after 42 overs.

Denton Brock remained unbeaten on 90.

Weaverham were comprehensive victors over Ashton on Mersey.

Their 200-9, with Tom Hulse (47no) and James Bell (46) starring, was beyond an Ashton side rolled over for 96.

Kevin Douglas took six wickets for 30 runs.

Northwich’s seconds were all out for 66 against Bollington.

Mark Wrench’s 6-16 as Bollington fell for 80 looked to have put Northwich in a strong position.

But two batsmen reached double figures in reply.
