NORTHWICH Rowing Club’s Beth Willford-Dutton has been selected to represent Great Britain at the upcoming Coupe de la Jeunesse.

The Sir John Deane’s College student has been named as part of the junior women's eight for the regatta in Poland, which starts on Friday afternoon.

She has also been selected as a spare for the 51-strong group travelling to an annual event that attracts the best teenage talent in Europe.

Willford-Dutton has been in fine form this year, partnering clubmate Lucy Gillbanks to finish as runners-up in the junior girls’ double scull at the Henley Women’s Regatta.

They were the first Northwich crew to reach a final at the event since 2003.

They also won a silver medal in the same boat class at the National Schools' Regatta in May.

Willford-Dutton, along with Gillbanks, Anya George and Jess Swindells, was part of a Northwich junior girls’ quad that qualified for Henley Royal Regatta.

They they exited at the first round stage after trailing Shiplake Vikings.
